Julien G, Julian H, Will and myself enjoyed some open canoeing tonight on the Basin. From now on we aim to make this a weekly event so if you would like to join in just sign up on the white board and give it a go.

The KJO open canoeing course concluded on Tuesday and everyone who attended the final session came away with a BCU Two Star award. Thanks to Jacko, Dennis and especially Gary who ran most of the sessions.

As with kayaks, 'Two Stars' are free to use the open canoes on the Basin in buddy groups of three so hopefully the open boats will become a regular feature on Tuesday nights.

The Basin are propsing to run this course on the following dates, subject to having a minimum attendance of four (maximum ten).

• Saturday, 19 May
• Saturday, 7 July
• Saturday, 15 September

The course will run from 10:00 to 16:00 (bring a packed lunch) and costs £30.00.
