Devizes to Westminster 2007

It is time to seriously think if you want to sacrifice the first 4 months of 2007 to the gods of marathon racing.  Training will start in January for those who want to attempt the DW next year. Our advantage this year is that we have the experience and already one racing K2.

Last year we took possession of our boats just in time for Waterside A and it was in late Febuary.  My goal is to have the crews in good order when the waterside series start (11th of Febuary for race A).   This will leave us with what's important : training, training and a little bit of organizing.

I'll start to get serious about this (meaning I'll do a bit more than nod and say "yeah, I'll think about it"), so come and talk to me if you want to say "I've been there, I've done that" (*) .

Notice for those who wonder what I am talking about :
The Devizes to Westminster canoe marathon is the longest canoe marathon in Europe. Happening during the Easter week-end it is a race for 2 men/women kayaks or canoes (mostly flat water racing K2s)
that runs for 125 miles between Devizes (Kennet and Avon Canal) and Westminster Bridge in London. Concurrents paddle non stop for that distance with time ranging from 17 to 36 hours.
2 THCC crews entered last years and one finished in 24 hours 30 minute.
