    Bank holiday river paddle?

Does anyone fancy a paddle up past the London Eye to the cafe for cake on bank holiday monday?

the tide times suggest that we could could head up there and back with the tide (just) in our favour

    (in gmt BST even)
    0851   0.5
    1435   7.1

Do people agree and fancy a trip?

    Re: Bank holiday river paddle?

I would love to join the Monday paddle up/down the river. Mind you, it has been ages since I was in a sea kayak ... so a relaxed trip would be good.

I'll have to work out some times but if we start early-ish and work with the tides, it shouldn't be hardcore. The hardest bit is carrying the sea kayaks accross the busy-ish road to put them outside the cafe for lunch.

    Re: Bank holiday river paddle?

We have 3 three stars and a strong 2* so this sounds like a go-er. Before i open an equipement booking post can i get some fedback on my timings.

Its 4 miles to vauxhall bridge. with a little tidal help. 2 hours should be an easy paddle up there?

so that would be meet at 10, on water at 11. arrive vauxhall at 1. lunch + sitting in the sun etc for a few hours then back to base, heading out at 2:30pm arrive at 4:30pm?  would mean a paddle back in slack-ish tide? but it sounds like nice timing.

thoughts? shall i start an equipement booking thread?

    Re: Bank holiday river paddle?

I am fairly sure that when we did the run with Alison it took us just under 2 hours to get there against the tide and 45 minutes to get back with the tide.

I'll come. Will bring own boat and equipment, though could do with Club towline

    Hi Dan,

I managed to get my 2* last night and If there was space on the trip would not mind tagging along.

    Roger.
