Just back from a sunny stroll along Brighton sea front. I popped into the kayak shop there. www.bkkayaking.com. I picked up a leaflet for the annual Paddle Round the Pier festival. Its on two days, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July. It revolves around two main races from the beach at the Hove end of Brighton to the piers and back. www.paddleroundthepier.com. It's got a racy race for kayakers, SOTs, and even stand-up paddlers. And a family, fun, race on the Sunday. Plus a shore festival. The pics on the site of hundreds of crafts out on the water are impressive.
It's relatively near me and I think I might give one of the races a go. Thought it might be of interest to the rest of the club given its relative ease-of-access from London.
