Re: Kayak surfing trip - 13th June

Unless Dimitris has bough a car, which I think he is planning to do, we have two cars.  I'm ok to take 3 passengers and their boats.  I usually try to pack all paddling gear inside the boats to maximise the space in the car.

Martin - how many can you take?

Yes finally we bought a car (hurrey!) - need to sort ouf the roof racks but that should be easy.

We can take 2 people but I am not sure about boats (only had the car 2 days now so not sure how much I can push it - should take at least 2 boats and 4 passengers altogether)

Re: Kayak surfing trip - 13th June

The surf forecast for this weekend is zero so far.  It might change.  I usually work on the theory it can only get better.  I'll keep my eye on it and see what it's looking like from day to day.

Happy to go with poor surf quality as it doesn't affect us kayakers as much as it affects boarders.  However, no point going if it's a mill pond.

Re: Kayak surfing trip - 13th June (Now proposed day trip to Joss Bay on Saturday)

Right!  No point in going to Llangenith or Bude this weekend as there is no chance of a decent wave.

However, there is the prospect of something surfable at Joss Bay.  This isn't forecast to be brilliant but as we can go to Joss Bay for the day (it's just over between Margate and Ramsgate) I'm up for giving it a shot.  Martin can only really do Saturday and that would suit Alex too as she wanted to get off early too so I'm posting here on the assumption we go Saturday unless someone proposes something different.

The plan would be: 9 am meet and load up from the Basin - head over to Joss Bay arriving before miday - surf for couple of hours - find place for bacon butties and hot chocolate - head home tired and happy.  If the surf turns out to be too rubbish we will have only wasted a day and not dragged our camping stuff all the way.  If it turned out fab then those of us who are around Sunday can always repeat the process.

I will also set up a new post to see if anyone is up for Llangenith next weekend.

Post here if you are up for Joss Bay this Saturday! - Also book your equipment now before the deadline today.  Make clear if you need a lift or can offer a lift.  I can offer space for three/four people and three boats (not counting me or my boat).

    Good work Helen!

That will work fine for me.

Will be able to give lifts to 3 others.
