    Thanks Paul.

Open canoeists, let's meet at the basin at 9.30 to ensure we have enough time to return the keys to Mike before 10.30am.

We will ask Mike if it's ok to keep the keys with us and then drop them off after boat collection. If we get a negative response (which is very likely) we will then paddle a longer distance and aim to be back at 8pm.

Jon can you investigate possibilty to paddle through Canterbury?

Hope this plan is OK with everyone. See you at the basin at 9.30am on Saturday!

Hi Dimitris. Going all the way to Canterbury is problematic as above Fordwich, the river ceases to be tidal so you would be paddling against the stream. The tidal stretch of the river has open public access but the non tidal part does not, so we may encounter opposition from landowners. If we want to do a longer trip we can start lower down the river at the charmingly named hamlet of Pluck's Gutter.

The latest news is that we should be able to drop off boats before Mike comes back.

So all settled - see you at 9.30am on Saturday

Thanks to all who participated in Saturdays paddle on the River Stour, which I thought was a very enjoyable afternoon. Check out the pictures of the happy boaters in my photo gallery http://towerhamletscanoeclub.co.uk/photos/joneeles/category1372.aspx

Thanks Jon for organising! It was a great day out, the weather was good enough to get a very decent tan, and the scenery was lovely.

A very nice trip for the people that want to get their 2* too, since there are no tricky bits, and there's a bit of tidal planning (but it's ok if you get it wrong Cool).
