Tower Hamlets Canoe Club

Larry, the 4 star (sea) award requires you to have done 3 day trips at sea. A typical weekend course will give you the chance to do one such trip as part of the training and assessment, so at a minimum you would need two under your belt already plus some knowledge of trip planning considerations and navigation.
