Thanks to all for helping this complex bit of organisation towards the finishing line
(to Dan and Sarah in particular for switching shifts).
I've updated the main posting at the top with the draft boat sharing plan, repeated
here for convenience:
AM PM BOAT
Chris (AM leader) ? OB (Aquanaut) ?
Charlie (AM leader) Dan Basin Romany
Pete Sarah Basin Explorer
MikeOR Ailien (PM Leader) OB (DaveT's Orion)
TonyR (AM Co-ord) JonEeles (PM Co-ord) OB (Tony's Viking)
Sean Liz Nordkapp
? Cliff ?
As you see, we're not quite there because Cliff still needs an AM partner.
If there's someone out there who's still pondering whether to join the trip and
claim an AM slot, now would be a good time ! Alternatively, if Sean and Dan/Sarah
are doing a car swap, is there any chance of taking Cliff's boat (still to be chosen)
to Gravesend on the roof ? (I appreciate this could be a liability).
Again, any suggestions welcomed ... !
Charlie/Pete: I have paired you up with Dan/Sarah, but without any
real thought as to who takes which boat. I assume you will sort this out between you
and tell me if it's different from what I've noted here.
I'm leaving it to individuals to make sure they are happy with the boats allocated,
with this Tuesday night as a possible tryout opportunity. You will also need to sort
out with your boat share partner which bits of kit (if any) you plan to share
and to be clear about who is booking and collecting what. That includes PADDLES obviously.
The trip leaders and co-ordinators will not organise kit for you.
I'll be acting as AM Co-ordinator and Jon Eeles as AM Co-ordinator.
As well as keeping in touch with each other, we also want texts (or calls) from all
our respective team members on the day, proving they're out of bed and know it's happening!
So paddlers, please text us your names sometime during the week, so we have your
numbers stored and ready.
My number will be 07948-805084.
(Jon - please can you either post your number or message it to PM team members)
There'll be another posting or two during the week, so please keep watching!
MikeOR reminds me there are toilets and a nice little waterfront cafe at Gravesend where
the changeover occurs, hence the likelihood of tea and stickies etc. You won't starve!
Cheers
TonyR
