    White Water Trip 8th-10th August

After the success (and massive swim count!) of the Hurley day out - we are now planning a weekend to the Tryweryn in North [wikipedia:Wales] on the weekend of the 8th-10th August. The plan will be to head up on the Friday, spend a couple of days paddling and then head home, tired and hungover, on Sunday. There will be something for everyone, the lower http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/trywerynlower.htm is great as an introduction to Whitewater; the middle is a step up and a bit more of a challenge http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/tryweryn.htm. The beauty of this river is that it is dam release so we should hopefully have some water to paddle on, rather than having to scrape down a rocky ditch.

Please reply below if you are keen – unfortunately due to the nature of the paddling, you need to be 2* standard to come along, I know this is a pain for some of you, but without 2 start skills the likelihood is that you will be put off for ever. Don’t stress if you can’t come this time, there’ll be plenty more opportunities.

    Cheers

    Paul

    I never swim!
Sometimes, however, I choose to not "wear" my kayak

Dave (Biltong) To clarify - the plan is to paddle on the Saturday and Sunday, if you are happy to look after yourself and feel you won't need rescueing, feel free to paddle whenever you like, including Friday 8th!  I suspect a lot of folk will head up after work on friday.

Bad timing, means we will get less of a present as people will not want to dip in their pockets twice in succession.

I could fancy if someone is prepared to babysit me down some of the simple bumpy bits and when I get scared I'll stand on the side and throw ropes at people.

I have no car so a lift for myself and Dan would be appreciated
