After the success (and massive swim count!) of the Hurley day out - we are now planning a weekend to the Tryweryn in North [wikipedia:Wales] on the weekend of the 8th-10th August. The plan will be to head up on the Friday, spend a couple of days paddling and then head home, tired and hungover, on Sunday. There will be something for everyone, the lower http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/trywerynlower.htm is great as an introduction to Whitewater; the middle is a step up and a bit more of a challenge http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/tryweryn.htm. The beauty of this river is that it is dam release so we should hopefully have some water to paddle on, rather than having to scrape down a rocky ditch.
Please reply below if you are keen – unfortunately due to the nature of the paddling, you need to be 2* standard to come along, I know this is a pain for some of you, but without 2 start skills the likelihood is that you will be put off for ever. Don’t stress if you can’t come this time, there’ll be plenty more opportunities.
Cheers
Paul
