Open Canoe training for 2* group

Joanna and I will run a session next Tuesday  (29th) for those who want to get training on the open canoe element for their 2*

You don't need to have any previous open canoe experience to join, please post here if you are interested stating your open canoe experience (if you have any that is)

I think Luke is already running an open boat 3 star course that week. Might not be enough boats? Tom

I spoke to Luke and we believe we have enough boats to run two sessions

    Hi Dimitris,

I had offered to help Charlie with coaching on this night, but need the 2* open boating so that I might become a proper coach, so please put me on the list,

    O London, see
Swelling with naval pride, the pride of thee!
Wide, deep, unsullied Thames, meandering glides,
and bears thy wealth on mild majestic tides.

If you can be bothered and need more boats, htere are always the aluminium Grumans by hte high ropes container.  Boats would have to be returned there at the end of the evening though.  (That said they are lighter than the old 'Old Towns' on the racks).

I htink there are 5 of them with one rigged for sailing.

Hello Dimitris. I would like to join in with this. I have done lots of open canoeing but I have no qualifications so would like to get the two star thing done. Jon.

Sure, just to clarify though there will be no assessment on Tuesday (I can't sign you off anyway). You would need to pester someone like Luke for this.

    Dan,

Probably not down tomorrow but happy to get involved with signing off some 2 star open canoe stuff.  I assume this can done through the log books.

I believe Alison is down on 26th for 2 star assesments so perhaps that week (as assesment involves both) or the week before maybe.  Perhaps even next week.  Will have a look at the diary and iinstructor rota & put my name down somewhere.

    Cheers,

It would be great if you were happy to work though things in people's log books over the next few weeks. We have people in the 2* group at very different levels of expriance of open boating. It could be a cunning plan tomorrow if you snag the likely candidates with lots of experiance/ practice for sign off and dimitris and Ionna could take some that need some coaching before sign off?

    Cheers for this.

KayakJacko are in this coming week (the 5th) to do some white water coaching. You may find that many of the interested people are aready booked int this already.

I am happy to put a post and get a list of interested people that are ready for the 2* test. Infact I'll do it in a minute, I just want to set your expectations for the potential turnout :)
