MBW Mobile Bike Works - Bicycle Maintenance and Servicing
Is an exciting new scheme taking place at Shadwell on Tuesday evenings. If you ride a bike and wish to have parts replaced or serviced you can now book these in with me by phone. You can have the work done on a Tuesday evening while you are paddling or at another location such as your home or work as arranged! Finally you don't have to go through the hassle of booking your bike in at a busy bike shop and being without it for a day or more. In order for the service to be efficient I will need to do a quick free inspection or discuss over the phone specifics prior to booking in and working on your bike. Either way, I would like you to ring me to discuss or arrange an free inspection otherwise you could try finding me in the workshop at Shadwell on Tuesday evenings. Service details and prices
Basic Service: £25 to £35
Recommended if you have not used the bike in a while or if you want it to remain safe and running well.
Includes:
Check and adjust the brakes - Check and adjust the gears - Check chain for wear and lube if necessary - Check wheels for damage, check cones and tighten if necessary - Check tyres for wear and reset tyre pressure as appropriate - Check frame and forks for damage - Bars and headset checked and tightened - Tighten cranks bolts and pedals.
Full Service: £50 to £60
Recommended if you have not used the bike in a long while or if you use the bike regularly for leisure and especially commuting.
Includes
Check and adjust the brakes replacing brake pads and cables or lubing as necessary - Check and adjust the gears replacing cables or lubing as necessary - Check wheels for damage and true if necessary - Check hubs relube and replace bearings as necessary - Check headset relube and replace bearings as necessary - Check bottom bracket clean and relube as necessary - Tighten cranks bolts and pedals - Check frame and forks for damage - All other bolts checked and tightened.
Please note: Suspention forks/rear suspention systems are not serviced in either basic or full service. Prices specified are for labour only - replacement parts are additional.
Cleaning £5 to £15
Recommended periodically or prior to the above service. This will reduce damage and prolong the life of bike parts whilst providing a smoother run.
Other maintenance
Replacing gear cables - £3 per cable change £6/10 if servicing required
Replacing brake blocks (not disk brake blocks) - £3 per break block change
Wheel Trueing/Buckles - £5 to £15
Punctures or replacing tube - £5 to £10
Mudguard fit - £10
Rack fit F/R - £6 to £10
Block and chain or bottom bracket fit - Price arranged
Prices specified are for labour only replaced parts are additional.
Other work will be concidered on inspection
