Tower Hamlets Canoe Club

I have spoken with Leo Hoare from http://www.getafix.com/ in North [wikipedia:Wales] about running an open canoe 3 star training/moving water course on the weekend 16-17 23-24 February.

I recently did my 5 star whitewater training with him and was very impressed with his coaching and local knowledge of North [wikipedia:Wales].

The aim is to start working towards the 3-star open canoe award and get some of the required trips done while having fun and explorer some classic North [wikipedia:Wales] Rivers.

When: 16-17 23-24 February

Where: North [wikipedia:Wales]

Who: Anyone with 2 stars and a taste for some whitewater (up to grade 2) paddling in an open canoe

What's included:

• Accommodation at http://www.ffynnonwen.com/bunkhouse.htm for Saturday night
• Lunch and dinner Saturday
• Breakfast and lunch Sunday
• Canoes and paddles
• Top-class coaching on some classic North [wikipedia:Wales] rivers

What's not included:

• Transport to North [wikipedia:Wales] (we only need two cars!) and getting to-from the rivers
• Personal paddling kit - dry cag/trousers, buoyancy aid, helmet, suitable shoes, dry bags, thermos, etc.
• Accommodation Friday night
• Breakfast Saturday morning

Price: £187 (This is an absolute barging!)

Count me in please.  I have been dying to try some open boating on white water for ages.  I assume it will be lower Trwerwyn?  I won't need accomodation for either night but will understand if the price is fixed regardless.

Its unfortunate for me that its at the start of the half term weekend as we had thought about (but not yet planned) taking a holiday then. We are currently working on a few options but I'm afraid I won't be able to say one way or the other until after the weekend. Do you mind waiting until then?

That's what you get for looking after someone who's been sick for the past week.... 

Maybe we should go for the singles...

Julian and I would like to share a boat - Julian is too scared to go by himself.
