Tower Hamlets Canoe Club is a canoe and kayaking club located in Central London at Shadwell Basin

Paddling since 1984

... although people had been getting together informally to paddle at Shadwell Basin from the 1970's.

Our club is run

by the members, for the members

We run on a voluntary, non-commercial, non-profit making basis. All club members pay membership fees.

Club funds are used to pay for use of Shadwell Basin facilities, internal operations of the club and purchasing club equipment. Trips are paid for by the trip’s participants.

Each section runs trips throughout the year in a variety of environments, ranging from flat water to white water.

We also have weekly games of Canoe Polo.

Our club sessions take place each week with additional trips usually at least 1 per month:

  • In colder months we also use a training pool at Britannia Leisure Centre
  • Our trips extend across the rivers and coasts of the UK
