== Guidance ==

Tuesday night is our official club night, when we are expected to be on-site. The changing-rooms will be available for use, and keys will be available from John from 18:00.

At '''all other times''', if you need access to the site (e.g for a trip):

* It's your responsibility to ask a committee-member for keys on a Tuesday night. Remember to make a note in the [https://towerhamletscanoeclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5685&start=10000 key log]. Please return the keys promptly after use.
* You must create a trip in [https://thcc-boattrippy.azurewebsites.net BoatTrippy]. This must be complete before noon on Thursday, when the SBOAC Liaison officers write the weekly access email to the SBOAC staff.
* You need to add a car (with your access times) when you create your trip in [https://thcc-boattrippy.azurewebsites.net BoatTrippy]. You need to do this even if you're not driving, e.g you're paddling on Shadwell Basin or the Thames (please indicate this fact in "Location" when you create the trip).
* Your access times must be within the times listed in the table (and current exception-list, if any) below. Access outside these times will not be approved.
* Changing-rooms can often be made available on Saturdays, please make note of it on your BT request if required.

British Canoeing Profile

Tower Hamlets Canoe Club is affiliated with [http://https://www.britishcanoeing.org.uk British Canoeing]. We require all THCC members to maintain a British Canoeing profile, which includes details of their personal paddling awards, coaching qualifications, etc. Creating a basic profile costs nothing, and only takes a few minutes.

== Signing up ==
You can create a free BC profile by going to the [https://britishcanoeing.justgo.com/Account.mvc/Login British Canoeing Login Page] and clicking "Sign Up". You then get to fill in your basic details:

Click "sign up" and your profile will be created.

== Linking to THCC ==
The first thing to do when your new profile has been created is to link it to THCC by clicking "Select Club" in the upper right-hand side:

You can then search for THCC by entering "Tower Hamlets" in the search box, then click "List" and finally the little magnifying-glass icon. That should show only "Tower Hamlets Canoe Club". Now you can click the "tick" icon to select THCC as your club:

You'll need to confirm that you are actually a member (i.e you've paid Lars your first year's membership fee):

Congratulations! You have now created a new BC profile, and linked it to THCC. You will now see that there are three tabs you can click on, for more details:

Under the "Profile" tab there are several sub-tabs, the first being "Basic Details"; make sure it's all correct:

Skipping over the "Communications" sub-tab, the next two pages are "Credentials" and "Qualifications". It's important that these pages are accurate and up-to-date. This is especially important for coaches and leaders, since it enables the club to verify qualifications as part of its insurance obligations.

On the "About You" sub-tab, you can enter information which will help British Canoeing with their diversity and inclusion initiatives, which ensure it meets the needs of all its members:
