A Table Of Contents (TOC) is included whenever a page has four or more headings.
The TOC can be turned off by including a {{NOTOC}} template anywhere in the page.
The TOC is normally positioned before the first heading, but adding a {{TOC}} template at a specific place will mark where the TOC should be inserted.
Likewise, the TOC may be displayed to the right by adding a {{TOCright}} template at a specific place.
