The Club owns a variety of kit, from playboats, through to sea kayaks, plus a selection of safety kit. We may also use kit owned by the Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre.

You should become familiar with where kit is kept in order that it can be found easily and returned to its correct place. If you are unsure please ask the Equipment Officer, a member of the Committee or a coach.

Please put kit back where you found it. Please also ensure you put it back as you found it; for example, all buoyancy aids should be zipped and clipped before being hung away under the correct size.

Boats should not be seal launched off the pontoons. You may take them down the slide though.

Arranging access to kit

  • Kit stored at the Basin may be accessed under different conditions depending on times. See Basin_access for detail. Please do not contact SBOAC directly as they do not know who our members are and will not therefore grant access by individual request.
  • Please check the Equipment Booking forum for exact details and key access to the SBOAC site and Club equipment.
  • No SBOAC kit can be taken from the centre during the week as it is in use for the daily operation of the SBOAC.
