Resources regarding safety for watersports.

RNLI

The RNLI has a wide range of safety resources that are of use to Canoeists and Kayakers.

Serious Fun - for beginners

For Beginners the RNLI Serious Fun DVD is an excellent introduction to water safety. This is excellent follow on material from a beginners course and an all round introduction to water safety. It also has its own web site where you can get a copy http://www.rnli.org.uk/seriousfun

The Sea Safety Booklet and CDrom

The Sea Safety booklet is also excellent and covers many aspects of sea safety relevant to Canoe and Kayak use of the sea and tidal waters. The booklet includes a CD-rom which runs on Windows PCs and Macs which has very useful pictures, videos, demonstrations and interactive exercises on the collision regulations, lights at sea, flares, emergency procedures and much more. This is an excellent resource for someone progressing beyond BCU 2 star.

RNLI educational resources

The RNLI education site contains a wealth of sea and safety materials for educators of all kinds. see http://www.rnli.org.uk/Shorething/Default.aspx?ld=1

PLA - The Port of London Authority
