| The club runs a structured [[course for beginners]] every month except December.

| The course runs over four consecutive Tuesday evenings, starting on the first Tuesday of each month.

| The course is based around the syllabus for the [[BCU One Star]].

| Following this course people generally join the club and continue towards their [[BCU 2 Star]] award.

| The club also provides coaching and training towards the different [[BCU 3 Star]] awards, although these are generally completed and assessed outside the club.

| To qualify for the star awards you will need to complete a number of trips.
