If you are new to arranging club trips or haven't arranged one for a while, first take a look at the trip planning page from the THCC Handbook to familiarise yourself with the rules and processes for club trips.

Once you have decided when and where you are going and what the main activity will be, go to the new club trip form in BoatTrippy (you may need to log in, use your forum credentials).

You will be the 'organiser' for the trip. This doesn't mean that you need to organise everything. It just mean that you are the main point of contact for the trip. It is advised that trip planning is shared amongst the trip goers. Once the trip is over you'll need to send a trip report to the Treasurer. This will be available from the trip page after the trip start date.

Steps:

Tip: Include travelling dates in the start and end dates for the trip (for example a weekend WW trip will run from Friday to Sunday even though paddling will only be on Saturday and Sunday). This will make it easier for the drivers when adding their cars.

  • Enter the details into the form and submit. A trip page will then be created and displayed.
  • Copy the URL from the address bar in your browser. (it should be something like: https://thcc-boattrippy.azurewebsites.net/trip/1 )
  • To advertise your trip, log into THCC forums and go to the trips forum
  • Create a new topic for your trip in the usual way
  • Make the subject 'trip title - dates'
  • Copy something like the following into your post

The club are delighted to announce this upcoming club [seakayak / ww / canoe] trip. To view the trip, click the link [copy the link from step 4 above] and log in with your forum username and password. Once in, you can join the trip, car-share and book equipment. Note: Reply on this topic if you have a question for the organiser or information about the trip that would be useful for other club members
